Cabilao is a small island west of Bohol inhabited by about 4,000 people living in 5 villages with livelihood based on fishing and agriculture. The island has a school and, recently, an internet café, in the centre of the island. Proper road surfaces exist only in sections.
The island is slightly hilly and probably of volcanic origin and the reef that totally surrounds the island is its biggest asset in terms of biodiversity and coral formations.
The whole Cabilao Island is a protected area and boast of untouched above and underwater natural resources, much to the delight of scuba divers.
Different airlines from all big airports in Europe travel to the Philippines.
The most efficient way is to travel to Cabilao via Mactan International Airport at Mactan Island, Cebu.
The resort offers individual transport services from the airport on request. Just contact telephone no. +63 (32) 234 0248 or e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Another way is to take the fast ferry from Cebu City to Tagbilaran City, Bohol in approximately 2 hours, then by cab to Sandingan Island in more or less 90 minutes and finally by outrigger to Cabilao at 20 minutes.
Another option is to take a cab or bus to Argao. These will take more or less 90 minutes. From there, an outrigger will take you to Cabilao in about 1 hour. The trip though is only viable in daylight and good weather.
Also, a public boat leaves Argao for Cabilao about 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
