Alona Palm Beach Hotel Bohol is a now-defunct 4-star hotel situated on an elevated area facing a long stretch of white powdery sand beach and huge expanse of blue waters.

The hotel has 12 villas, all elegantly furnished with modern facilities and amenities.

The villas, a 450 square meters freshwater swimming pool and restaurant are separated from the sea by a 60 meters wide coconut palm grove.

The coconut trees add beauty to the landscape and shade to beach strollers. The grove assures the owners of a steady supply of buko. The juice is refreshing and the meat is a wonderful ingredient of fruit salads.

The restaurant can accommodate up to 90 people and is open on all sides with plenty of overhead fans for ventilation. The fans find its use during hot summer months for the sea breeze is more than enough to cool you.

The restaurant offers a variety of local and international dishes including entrees, salads, fish and meat main dishes and desserts plus daily specials depending upon market availability.

Food preparation is under strict supervision of a German chef. Guests have a wide choice of International vintage red and white wines to go with their meals.

The Alona Palm Beach Hotel Bohol is located at Tawala, Panglao Island 6340, Bohol, Philippines.

It is only 18 kilometers or 30 minutes away from Tagbilaran City, the one and only city of the province.

The hotel has 12 villas, all elegantly furnished, either with a king-sized bed (180 x 200 cm) or two double-sized beds (140 x 200 cm) with soft cotton bed covers and linens.

Each villa has a terrace with sun beds, table, chairs, terrace and room ceiling fans; bathrooms with hot and cold water, two lavabos, toilet and a dressing table; split type air conditioners, satellite TV, telephone, data port, Internet access, personal safe box, mini-bar, tea/coffee maker and hairdryer.

Other services and facilities are: an integrated pool bar, outdoor chess/checkers (160 x 160 cms), table tennis, 9-hole miniature golf course, kayaking, mountain bike plus helmet rental, diving paraphernalia and massage.

Sun beds are available around the pool area and at the beach, including towels and umbrellas.

Enjoy a sip of coolers and varied cocktails, while having a dip at the pool or while lounging at the sides, from the pool bar.

Experience a romantic, candlelight dinner in the evenings at the pool side.

Proper placement of lighting fixtures and use of colored lights adds magic to the night setting at the pool area.

A separate accommodation for a yaya or babysitter is available in a separate native-style

Closure

Unfortunately, the management decided to put into halt the operation of the resort. The resort was officially closed on 1st day of June 2010. No concrete reasons were disclosed why the resort stopped operating. The problem lies either with the employees or the management itself which is a very common scene for disputes.

It is a waste that such a nice resort made an abrupt decision to discontinue its operation but there are always its own reasons and let it be.

However, it doesn't mean forever. The resort is back but under its new name, new management and new staffs. Feel free to experience new enjoyment as HENNAN RESORT ALONA BEACH opens to the public.
