Pamilacan Dive Site

Pamilacan Dive Site is located at Pamilacan Island, Baclayon, Bohol, Philippines. This dive site is rated 3/5 and is 20 km from Belleview Rock Resort. It is approximately 55 min. away by pump boat or outrigger boat. GPS coordinates are N.09º29.451-E.123º56.038 Baring from Alona Beach 110º.

The Pamilacan Dive Site is a slope dive and not very good for snorkeling because it is too deep with sandy parts in the shallow portion. This site is for PADI Advance Divers or higher. Visibility is (+): 15-22M with a depth of 8-35m and current of 2-4 (which is strong). The dive is most interesting at 10-20m and not so below 35m. The area is a bit affected by dynamite fishing.

Start the dive with the slope on the right shoulder, going south to south-west at 25m and come up to 10-15m. Great drift dive, good for two dives. First dive in front of the small rocky island and the second dive before your exit point from the first dive.

The reef slopes with many coral heads and soft corals. One will also see coral strings. Fishes that one will encounter are the delicate Sea Whip (Junceela fragilis), school of Napoleon Wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus) which is also called the double-headed Maori Wrasse, Barracudas, Batfish and an occasional Manta Ray (Manta birostris).
