Doljo Point Dive

The Doljo Point Dive is located at Doljo, Panglao Island, Bohol, Philippines. This is a steep slope/wall dive, rated is 3/5 with a distance of 15 km from Belleview Rock Resort and is good for snorkeling. It is approximately 39 min away by pump boat or outrigger boat. GPS coordinates are: N.09º35.542-E.123º43.349. The site is an easy dive site for PADI Open Water Divers or higher. Visibility (+) is 15-22m, with a depth of 8-35m, and current at 0-2. The dive is most interesting at 10-15m and not so below 30m. The area is not affected by dynamite fishing.

Start the dive with the wall on the left shoulder, going west. Entry/exit can be difficult when the “Amihan” wind blows. Watch your depth at the beginning of the dive for it is easy here to go “too” deep. It is also possible to approach the dive site via Jeepney or car. Land entry and exits are simple and easy to make but one has to be careful at the reef top. By boat, the trip takes long because it has to go all the way around the shallow east tip from Panglao. The outrigger boats cannot make a short cut except during maximum high tide.

One will encounter many giant sea fans, bucket sponges, elephant ear coral and green leather corals. Angelfish can be spotted and occasional Mackerels, Squid or young Barracudas. In deeper water and during the months of February and March, there is a good possibility of seeing White tip or Hammerhead sharks.
